A resident sees a problem
The person closest to the issue provides the details and exact location.
Our cause
We created HelpTrinidad after seeing people across Trinidad and Tobago struggle to report community problems—and struggle even more to get those problems noticed by the people who could actually fix them.
Why we started
Residents knew what was wrong: the pothole damaging vehicles, the drain that flooded whenever rain fell, the streetlight that stayed dark, or the illegal dumping affecting an entire neighbourhood. What they often did not know was where to report it, who was responsible, or how to follow up.
We saw complaints get passed from office to office. We saw important details disappear between phone calls and messages. We saw people become frustrated because they had no reference number, no clear route, and no way to know whether anyone with the authority to help had seen the problem.
HelpTrinidad was created to close that gap.
The change we want to make
The person closest to the issue provides the details and exact location.
The complaint receives a ticket number and becomes easier to route and follow.
Organized information helps the responsible people understand what needs action.
What we believe
People should not need inside knowledge, endless phone calls or political connections to have a legitimate community problem heard.
A simple, well-documented route from resident to responsible organization can make public service more visible, responsive and accountable. That is the cause behind HelpTrinidad.
